概述:Percutaneous valve implantation is the development of a foldable heart valve that can be mounted on an expandable stent delivered percutaneously through standard catheter-based techniques and implanted within a diseased valve annulus. In cases with severe aortic stenosis, the diseased valve has to be pre-dilated. To perform a true replacement the diseased valve has to be ablated and removed. 概述:Bilateral common iliac artery involvement remains a significant challenge for endovascular aneurysm repair. We describe a technique to overcome this obstacle that we have termed the trifurcated endograft. The technique involves the deployment of a second bifurcated endoprosthesis into an iliac limb to create a three-limbed graft. The third limb is then used as the origin for an extension into one hypogastric artery.

概述:My personal perspective about intravascular stents has been for the most part very positive. From its humble beginnings in the late ‘70s the stent become a major ther- apeutic resource and has achieved worldwide application. However, some disappointments in the last few years dampened my early unbridled enthusiasm. In my view, during its third decade of life the stent evolution has been hampered by unfulfilled goals. 概述:Optimal treatment strategies for pathologies of the descending thoracic aorta are still controversial. Open surgery is complex, while endovascular devices allow nonsurgical access to the thoracic aorta.
