Right ventricular outflow tract management from neonates to adults: an interdisciplinary view
It is with great pleasure that the European Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery(EACTS) and the Association of European Paediatric Cardiology (AEPC) announces a joint meeting on “Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Management from Neonates to Adults: An Interdisciplinary View”, 11-12 March 2011, Palma de Mallorca (Spain). It is the intention of both Associations to extend educational activities to surgeons, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists and nurses in the field of pediatric cardiology. The Right Ventricular Outflow Tract is involved in various congenital heart defects. Many issues remain unsettled: how to palliate RVOT obstruction? how to reconstruct RVOT at the time of primary repair? how to deal with reoperations/ reinterventions? and many others... The meeting will offer a two-day programme covering all aspects of Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Management from Neonates to Adults. The topics will cover basic aspects (anatomy, physiology, evaluation), primary surgery, reinterventions, percutaneous options and post operative care. Training aspects will also be highlighted. A series of lectures will focus on areas of special interest or innovative techniques. The faculty includes both surgeons an cardiologists, members of AEPC and EACTS, renowned for their expertise in this field. EACTS and AEPC hope that this meeting will be well received and successful. We are looking forward to welcoming both trainees and already established to this event in the captivating city of Palma. EACTS Congenital Domain and AEPC Council
